Installing the component
- After purchasing the component from our store at log into our website and visit the Download section.
- Download the purchased extension – you will always download the installation zip file.
- Log into the administration of your website and go to Extensions > Extension Manager
- Activate Upload package file tab
- Click browse and navigate to the installation zip file you have just downloaded
- Click the Upload & Install button
- The zip file will be uploaded onto your website to the tmp folder first. From there it will be automatically extracted to the destination folders and the sql scripts will be executed in your database.
- You will see a message confirming the successful installation once the installation process is finished in Joomla
Possible issues during the installation
- The tmp folder is not writeable – make sure the folder and all the subfolders and files are writeable for Joomla.
We always recommend delete all the files from the tmp folder regularly to avoid any installation/upgrade issues. - The com_joomcourses folders and files are not writeable – sometimes the chmod settings are not correctly set by default on some hosted servers.
Always make sure that Joomla can write into the components and administrator/components folders and all the subfolders.
Uninstalling the component
- Go to Extensions > Extensions Manager
- Click the Manage tab
- Type in word “Joomcourses” into the Search field
- The extensions related to JoomCourses appear
- If you see more extensions (plugins and modules) which relate to JoomCourses please uninstall those extensions first.
- After that you can proceed and uninstall the component by ticking the checkbox and clicking the Uninstall button.
