The first thing you'll want to do in JoomProject, is to create a new project. Because without one, nothing else can be added at first. Basic and self-explanatory fields such as Title and Description are not covered here.
Category
You may select a category for your project here. Categories can be created in the backend of JoomProject:
Joomla Backend / Components / JoomProject / Projects / Categories (Appears once you clicked on Projects)
Projects will not inherit their viewing access or permissions from the category.
Status
In the site frontend, only published items will be visible to non-admins. Changing the status of an existing project will also change the status of all related items. So if you archive a project, all tasks will archived as well.
Start and End date
All future milestones and tasks will have be created within the selected date range. If you change the date, JoomProject adjusts the dates of milestones and tasks belonging to this project in case they are no longer within range.
Labels
Here you can setup labels that will be available for the different items related to the project. The labels you create will be visible on the overview and form pages of the corresponding item.
Attachments
This will not be available when you create a new project. You'll have to save it first before you can attach files. Also, if you disabled the File repository extension, this form will not be available. Attached files will be visible on the project dashboard, in the project details.
Website
Here you could enter the website URL of your client, or the actual project (assuming it's a website project)
A contact email address that will be visible to anyone with access to the project
Phone
Like the email address, everyone with access to the project will be able to see it
Image
You can upload a logo or image that will be displayed in the project list in the site frontend.
Permissions
In order to see and change the permissions, you have to be an administrator. Non-Admins will not be able to set the project permissions. Instead, the default access is applied - as defined in the Joomla global configuration. Changing the groups that have access to the project will also apply to all items related to the project, such as tasks.
The groups (including any child groups) you select here will define who is a member of the project. Your selection here will also determine which groups can be selected in the permissions tab of any item, related to this project. For example, if you select the Registered group here, you will not be able to select the Public group when creating a task for this project, because it is outside the containment.
