When you purchase JoomEvents extension from our site, you can download the component from our downloads page here: https://www.joomboost.com/my-products.html. Follow the instructions below and you will be able to install the extension easily
1) Check for new version
The latest version of JoomEvents use the Joomla update tool.
You need to access your Joomla 3 admin page and go to : Extensions -> Manage -> Update
If the page is empty, there is no extension tu update.
2) Install the component, modules and plugins
The component, all the modules and plugins are included in a single package com_joomevents.zip
- Login to back-end of your site using a super administrator account.
- Access to
Extensions => Manage => Install
menu item. - Browse for the file
com_joomevents.zip
. - Click on Upload & Install button
If everything worked properly you will get a success message notification.
If you are facing this error during installation: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in [file/path.php] on line [line number]
you may try to install the component from a directory as described :
- Download com_joomevents.zip and unpack all Joomevents files to a directory on your computer
- Using FTP, upload this directory to the /tmp directory of your Joomla installation on your webserver
- Access to
Extensions => Manage => Install
menu item. - Choose
install from folder
- Click on the Install button and Joomla will install it from the given directory.
3) Move data from one site to a new site
Sometime, you have to move JoomEvents data from one site to a new site. To do that, you will need to:
- Export all JoomEvents related database tables from old site via phpmyadmin (table with `joomevents` prefix)
- Open that sql file, use find and replace function of the text editor to replace table prefix so that it meets the table prefix of the new site (in case your old site and new site use different database table prefix)
- Import these database tables into new site database (via phpmyadmin)
- Install latest version of JoomEvents to the new site so that the database schema will be updated to latest version (or access to Tools -> Fix Database Schema if your site is running on latest version of JoomEvents already)
4) Auto Update
You can find and copy your Download ID from https://www.joomboost.com/my-products.html, Then login to the backend and go to JoomEvents -> config -> first tab -> Download ID then paste it
5) Uninstall
If you have to uninstall JoomEvents for some reasons (for example, you want starts from scratch - or maybe after installing and using it, you realize that it doesn't meet your requirement), you can follow the instructions below to get the extension completely uninstalled:
- Login to backend of your site using a super admin account
- Access to
Extensions => Manage => Manage
menu item. - Enter events keyword into the search box to search for JoomEvents component and all it's modules, plugins (see the screenshot)
- Check on the items you want to un-install
- Click on Uninstall button in the toolbar
When you uninstall JoomEvents, the database tables related to the extension won't be uninstalled. By doing that, when you re-install the extension in the future, all the old data will be kept and still be available. If you want to completely removing it, please access to your site database via phpmyadmin, look at all the tables with prefix joomevents and drop these tables
6) Update Manually
Sometime, you might need to update to latest version manually (for example, when Joomla Update doesn't work). In this case, login to your account on our website, then access to My Downloads menu item ttps://www.joomboost.com/my-products.html, download latest version of the extension from there. Then install that latest version in the same way as new installation.
