Easy Chat Room - User Guide - Sending Messages

Easy Chat Room lets you send far more than plain text — images, files, voice clips, videos, GIFs, stickers, links, and code. This guide covers every type of message you can send.

Sending a text message

1. Click in the message box at the bottom of the conversation (it reads Type a message).
2. Type your message.
3. Press Enter, or click the send button (the paper-plane icon).

You can include emojis directly in your text.

Finding the sharing buttons

The sharing buttons sit to the left of the message box:

• A row of icons for GIFs, stickers, videos, and images is shown directly.
• Click the plus (+) button to reveal more options: audio messages, code snippets, and files.

Sharing images

1. Click the Send Images icon.
2. Choose one or more image files from your device.
3. The upload panel opens. Add a caption if you want one.
4. Send the images. They appear inline in the conversation, and others can click to view them full size.

Sharing files

1. Click the plus (+) button, then the Send Files icon.
2. Choose a file from your device.
3. Add a caption if you want one, then send.
4. Other people can download the file from the message.

Sending a voice (audio) message

1. Click the plus (+) button, then the Send Audio (microphone) icon.
2. Record your message.
3. Send it. The recipient can play it back inside the conversation.

Sharing a video

1. Click the Send Videos icon.
2. Choose a video file from your device, add a caption if you want, and send.

Sending a GIF

1. Click the Send GIFs icon. A GIF panel opens.
2. Type a word in the search box to find a GIF.
3. Click a GIF to send it straight away.

Sending a sticker

1. Click the Send Stickers icon. The sticker panel opens.
2. Choose a category from the tabs at the top.
3. Click a sticker to send it.

Sharing a link

Just paste a web address into the message box and send it as normal. Easy Chat Room automatically builds a preview card showing the page title, description, and thumbnail.

Sharing a code snippet

1. Click the plus (+) button, then the Send Code icon. The code window opens.
2. Enter an optional title or caption.
3. Choose the programming language from the list — this controls how the code is colour-highlighted.
4. Paste or type your code into the box.
5. Click Send. The code appears neatly formatted in the conversation.

Adding a caption to an upload

When you share an image, file, or video, the upload panel includes an Add caption field. Anything you type there is shown alongside the file in the conversation.
