Ordering categories in JoomMedia with drag and drop

In JoomMedia, the categories are managed by the administrator in the Joomla Category Manager. Categories are a hierarchical tree structure, which means the administrator can define subcategories, and organize the categories in any order. The order defined in the category manager will be used when displaying the categories in the website.

Categories Manager

To manage JoomMedia categories follow this process:

1. Login to your Joomla website backend
2. Visit the Categories Manager from the JoomMedia component menu.
3. Ensure that the list of categories is ordered by the first column. 

Drag and Drop Ordering

To change the ordering of categories, follow this process:

1. Locate the category you wish to move
2. Place the cursor over the black Ordering icon on the left of the category name
3. Press and hold the right mouse button
4. Drag the category to the new location in the list
5. Release the mouse button

The new ordering should now be saved.
