Media Items Organization in JoomMedia

JoomMedia let you organize your media items inside categories, albums, groups, playlists and more easily.

Categories

Categories in JoomMedia is the main method for organizing your media items. Here's how it works. A Category contains media items and other Categories. One media item can be in one category or multiple categories. If a category is in another category, it's called a subcategory of that category.

JoomMedia categories is integrated with Joomla categories manager, so all features that you see in Joomla categories for articles also available for JoomMedia categories.

Albums

Albums are generated by users and are used to collect the user's own media together in a similar theme.

Groups

Groups are also generated by users and are used to create an area where users can collectively discuss and share media with a similar theme.

Playlists

Playlists are generated by users, and are used to collect together theme media in a specific order.

Tags

Tags provide a flexible way of organizing media items. The same tag can be applied to many different media items. Any item can have as many tags as desired.

Once an item is tagged with a specific tag, browsing to the link for that tag will give a list of all items that have been tagged with that tag.

Channels

Each user has their own channel which displays the user's activity, media, playlists, albums etc.
