Use time records to accurately track the amount of time you've spent on individual tasks. All records must be associated with a project and task.
Project
When creating a new record, you must select a parent project. Once you save the record, the project can no longer be changed. The project will unlock and govern the available tasks and access groups you can select in this form. So its a good idea to select a one first, before continuing through the rest of the form.
Task
You must assign the record to a task. On new records, the selected task will set the hourly rate value in the form. Time tracking records are not considered as "children" of tasks, so this field will not influence the available access groups for permissions. If a task is deleted, all associated time records are kept intact.
Log Date
Here you can select a date on which you've worked on the task.
Log Time
The minutes you've spent working on the selected date and task.
Hourly Rate
How much you charge per working hour on this particular record. When creating a new record, the selected task may update this value, but you can override it at any time for this record.
Billable
Decide whether the time spent counts towards the billable amount or not.
Permissions
In order to see and change the permissions, you have to be an administrator. Non-Admins will not be able to set the task permissions. Instead, the access of the selected parent project will be inherited. If you are an admin, the groups that are available for selection is limited by the access of the selected parent project. For example, if your selected project has selected the "Registered" group, you will not be able to select the "Public" group here, because it lies outside the containment. The selected task does not affect this part of the form.
