JoomCourses - Configuration

This is a complete reference of all JoomCourses configuration settings. Access the settings via Components > JoomCourses > Configuration (gear icon in the toolbar).

General Settings

VAT Rate The Value Added Tax percentage applied to all course prices. Set to 0 for no VAT. 0
Show VAT Whether to display VAT breakdowns (price without VAT, VAT amount, total with VAT) on the frontend. No
Disable Payment When set to Yes, the checkout skips the payment step entirely. Use for free courses or when handling payments externally. No
Cash Payment Enable the built-in cash/offline payment option during checkout. No
Currency The currency used for all prices, displayed throughout the site.
Check Capacity When enabled, the system checks available seats before allowing bookings and activates the waiting list feature. No
Waiting List Email Template Select which email template to use for waiting list notifications.

Course Information Display

Controls which fields are shown on course detail pages.

Course Dates Table

Calendar

Tutor Courses Layout

Controls how the tutors listing page is displayed.

SM Columns Number of grid columns on small screens (large phones, >=576px).

LG Columns Number of grid columns on large screens (desktops, >=992px).
XL Columns Number of grid columns on extra-large screens (wide monitors, >=1200px).

Registration Fields

Each registration field has up to three settings:

  • Enable — Whether the field appears on the checkout form
  • Required — Whether the user must fill in the field
  • Guest Enable — Whether the field appears during guest checkout (some fields only)

Additional Registration Settings

Additional Attendees Allow registrants to add names of extra attendees when booking multiple seats. No

Exclude Custom Fields for Guest Checkout Select custom fields that should not appear on the guest checkout form.

Courses View

Controls the courses listing page appearance and behavior.

Cart Settings

Demo Settings

Permissions

The Permissions tab allows you to configure which Joomla user groups have access to specific actions within JoomCourses.

Available permissions:

Edit Edit any item
Edit State Change item publishing state

For each user group, each permission can be set to:

  • Inherited — Use the setting from the parent group or global configuration
  • Allowed — Explicitly grant the permission
  • Denied — Explicitly deny the permission (overrides Allowed at lower levels)
