The dashboard is the home screen of the Easy Chat Room administrator area. This guide explains what it shows and how to find your way around.
Opening the dashboard
In the Joomla administrator menu, go to Components → Easy Chat Room. The dashboard opens.
What the dashboard shows
At the top, four cards give you an at-a-glance summary:
- Total Users — how many people have an Easy Chat Room account.
- Total Private Chats — the number of one-to-one conversations.
- Total Group Chats — the number of messages posted in rooms.
- Total Chat Rooms — how many rooms exist.
Below the cards you will find:
- Shortcuts to Create Chat Room and Add New User.
- A Latest Members table, with a button to view each member.
- A Latest Chat Rooms table, with buttons to open, edit, manage users, clear messages, or delete each room.
The sidebar
Everything else is reached from the left sidebar. The main groups are:

Click the round button near the top of the sidebar to collapse it for more screen space.
Viewing the chat as one of your members
To see exactly what a particular member sees:
- Go to Users → Members and open a member.
- In their Chat Rooms list, click the Chats button next to a room.
- A window opens showing that room as that member sees it. This is a read-only preview, useful for support and troubleshooting.
Every admin screen has a breadcrumb trail at the top. Use it to step back to the dashboard or to the previous screen at any time.
