Your status tells other people whether you are available to chat. This guide explains how to change it and how to see who else is around.
Setting your status
- In the left panel, click your name and avatar at the bottom to open the account menu.
- Choose one of the four statuses:
- Online — you are available.
- Away — you are signed in but not at your screen.
- Busy — you are signed in but do not want to be disturbed.
- Offline — you appear offline to others, even though you are still using the chat.
- Your choice takes effect immediately. A small coloured dot on your avatar shows your current status.
Choose Offline if you want to read messages quietly without showing up as available in the user list.
Seeing who is online
The Room tab in the left panel lists the people in the current chat room. Each person has a coloured status dot next to their avatar so you can tell at a glance who is online, away, busy, or offline.
- Click Load More to show more people in a busy room.
- Click Refresh List to update the list straight away.
Your administrator can choose to show only online users in the list. If you do not see everyone you expect, offline members are simply being hidden.
Checking when someone was last active
When you open a person's profile in the right panel, you can see their current status. If they are offline, the chat shows when they were last seen, so you know how recently they were active.
The room's user count
The top of the conversation shows how many people are currently in the room. This number updates as people join and leave.
