Easy Chat Room - User Guide - Joining Chat Rooms

Chat rooms are the public spaces where groups of people talk together. This guide shows you how to find rooms, join them, and move between them.

Browsing the room list

The chat homepage lists every room you are allowed to see.

1. Open the chat. The homepage shows the available rooms as cards.
2. Use the controls at the top to narrow things down:
   • All Rooms shows every room. If you own rooms, My Rooms shows only yours.
   • The sort menu reorders the list — for example Most users first, Newest first, or Oldest first.
   • The search box finds a room by name.
3. Click a room card to open it.

Joining a room

When you open a room you have not joined yet, a welcome screen appears.

1. Read the room name and description.
2. Click Join Chatroom.
3. You are taken into the conversation and can start chatting.

Entering a password-protected room

Protected rooms show a PIN field on the welcome screen.

1. Enter the PIN given to you by the room's owner or your administrator.
2. Click Join Chatroom.
3. If the PIN is wrong, a message tells you — check it and try again.

Rooms you cannot join

A few rooms are restricted:

• Members-only rooms are not available to guests.
• Hidden (secret) rooms do not appear in the public list — you need a direct link.
• If a room is switched off, an inactive message is shown instead of the conversation.
• If you do not have permission, an access denied message is shown.

Moving between rooms

Once you are inside the chat you do not need to go back to the homepage to switch rooms.

1. Open your account menu (bottom of the left panel) and choose My Rooms or Manage Rooms, or use the room switcher.
2. The room window opens with two lists: Joined rooms and Not Joined rooms.
3. Use the search box to find a room, then click it to open it.

Room information

• A notice message banner may appear at the top of a room — this is an announcement from the room owner or administrator.
• The online user count at the top of the conversation shows how many people are currently in the room.

Leaving a room

1. Open the room's menu — the options button in the right panel, or the settings icon in the conversation's top bar.
2. Click Leave Room.
3. You are removed from the room. You can join again at any time from the room list.
